Speaking with Alpha News, political strategist Karen Kocharyan addressed possible developments ahead of the elections.
According to him, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s “bicycle and household propaganda” has already exhausted itself.
“Pashinyan has been running this campaign for two years now—talking about hangers and faucets—but he is not achieving the desired results. The authorities are trying in every possible way to prevent a decline in ratings,” Kocharyan said.
He noted that although Pashinyan likely has a more realistic understanding of the situation behind closed doors, his public speeches are aimed at instilling hope within his own team. Kocharyan argued that the ruling party’s votes are currently fewer than the combined votes of all other forces.
“The main task in the coming months should be to preserve what they have and try to ‘cement’ it,” he emphasized, adding that the upcoming elections will be decisive for all sides.
In conclusion, the expert stressed that while it is theoretically possible to manipulate numbers through propaganda technologies, in practice—given the losses of recent years and prevailing public sentiment—the situation for the authorities is becoming increasingly difficult.
