Pashinyan’s chosen anti-Russian course is in action – Rafael Ordukhanyan
Speaking with Alpha News, Americanist Rafael Ordukhanyan commented on US Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to the political scientist, this marks yet another departure from Russia-oriented policies.
“Of course, everything here revolves around the situation in Iran – that was the main subject of discussion. In particular, the topic of the so-called ‘Trump Route’ was raised, which Iran undoubtedly perceives as a stab in the back. At the same time, this is part of ongoing efforts to detach the region. There was a slight hitch with Georgia, but now Azerbaijan and Armenia are gradually falling under the influence of the US and Europe. Moreover, the situation in Armenia is quite favorable for this. The anti-Russian course chosen by Pashinyan is in action. Russia, meanwhile, is not taking any steps in this direction. Vance did not have much work to do – the situation in Armenia is already quite favorable for pro-American actions. Now all of this is simply being materialized and monetized,” the expert said.
According to the political scientist, Pashinyan continues to adhere to an anti-Russian line, and Vance’s visit only confirms and consolidates this course.
“We know about the investment package in nuclear energy. The Soviet Union built a nuclear power plant, now the Americans will invest in it. In essence, this is another shift away from Russia and toward Western structures, despite public declarations to the contrary. Pashinyan is consistent in his anti-Russian policy, and Vance’s visit once again specifies and postulates this,” Ordukhanyan said.
