Pashinyan’s goal is to form Armenia that can interact in Turkish and Azerbaijani directions, says political scientist
Speaking with Alpha News, Russian political scientist Artur Atayev commented on the statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding a new Constitution.
“Pashnyan’s modern policy dictates so-called transparency. Transparency in both politics and economics. That is, he is actually building a new Armenia instead of Armenia, which was such a stable outpost and was forced to defend itself from the economic and political blockade. Now his goal is to form or build an Armenia that can interact in both the Turkish and Azerbaijani directions. This is what his concept dictates.
Of course, there are internal contradictions that he needs to level out, first of all, by amending the Basic Law. These are contradictions related to Karabakh. Because at the moment, he is considered a person who surrendered part of the territory and sacrificed certain ambitions and interests. That is, if earlier there was not just the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, but there was a battleground for Armenia to strengthen its influence. Now this territorial battleground does not exist. In this regard, his task is to form a new legal, intellectual, and, above all, economic battleground and help ensure that the Armenian economy becomes understandable and integrated. This is his goal, which he will achieve by amending the Constitution,” Atayev said.
