Pashinyan’s meetings with Western countries lead to the surrender of Armenia’s interests, Russian political expert says

Member of the Civic Chamber of Russia, political scientist Maxim Grigoriev commented to Alpha News on the speech of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in the European Parliament.

According to the expert, Pashinyan’s speech in the European Parliament is anti-Armenian in nature.

“I think that Nikol Pashinyan’s speech and actions are completely anti-Armenian in nature. We understand that he will go down in the history of the Armenian people as a person who participated in the surrender of Nagorno-Karabakh and, perhaps, the territory of Armenia as well. More than 100,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh can hate Pashinyan for what happened,” Grigoriev said.

According to the expert, no Pashinyan will be able to wreck the friendship of the Russian and Armenian people.

“As for Pashinyan’s statements and actions, they are clear; what he represents is also clear. But I am absolutely convinced that no Pashinyan will be able to wreck the friendship of the Russian and Armenian people, as well as Russia’s participation in defending its interests, protecting and assisting Armenia. Of course, this will continue as it has for hundreds of years, despite the actions of the current leader of Armenia,” Grigoriev said.

According to the expert, the role of the West for Armenia is absolutely negative.

“So far, we see that Pashinyan’s meetings with Western countries lead to the surrender of any interests for Armenia, and therefore, in my opinion, the role of the West in this regard is absolutely negative. During Azerbaijan’s attack on Nagorno-Karabakh, instead of defending Nagorno-Karabakh, Pashinyan conducted joint exercises with the armed forces of the United States, which, of course, did not intervene in any way. While Russian peacekeepers risked their lives to save Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh. In addition, some of the peacekeepers, namely Russian ones, were killed, and therefore the fact that Western countries will not do anything to protect the interests of Armenia is, in my opinion, absolutely obvious, and we must proceed from this,” the expert concluded.
