Speaking with Alpha News, Perch Tufenkchyan, Secretary of the Iraqi Central National Administration, expressed his concern over the current situation in Armenia.

“Iraqi Armenians are concerned about the situation in Armenia created by the current authorities. We are also concerned about the peace agreement that leads Armenia to constant concessions,” he said.

He also spoke about the Armenians living in Iraq․

“The Armenians of Iraq are divided into two parts: those who lived here before the pogroms and those who moved to Iraq after 1915-1920,” Tufenkchyan said.

Perch Tufenkchyan also highlighted the importance of the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Iraq, emphasizing its significant role in the life of the Armenian community. Many Armenians come to the church to meet and socialize with each other, as well as to participate in liturgies and services.
