Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will be on a visit to the United States on August 7-8. In Washington, Pashinyan will hold a bilateral meeting with Donald Trump to deepen the Armenia-US strategic partnership. Additionally, a trilateral meeting is planned with Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, which will be aimed at promoting peace, prosperity, and economic cooperation in the region.
Alpha News spoke to ANCA Communications Director Elizabeth Chouldjian on the topic.
“The Armenian National Committee of America has always strived to achieve true peace—peace rooted in justice, accountability, and respect for Armenian dignity. If a peace agreement is signed at the White House, but fails to affirm the right of Armenians forcibly displaced from Artsakh to return to their homes, ignores the release of prisoners, and overlooks violations of Armenia’s territorial integrity, then it cannot be considered real peace,” Chouldjian said.
According to her, the US government should clearly state that the peace agreement should include the return of Armenians to Artsakh, the release of prisoners, the protection of Armenian cultural heritage and Armenia’s sovereignty.
