A survey was conducted in Syunik province, where residents were asked whether Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan can bring peace.

Residents emphasized that the thousands of casualties, territorial losses, and the continued imprisonment of Armenian captives in Baku contradict the very idea of peace. According to them, the rapid handover of lands in the hope of avoiding war does not actually bring the expected stability.

“If a person lacks strength of will, speaking about real peace becomes meaningless. How can peace be established when the enemy continues to kill our children? Peace does not come to places where weakness prevails,” said one of the Syunik residents.

Respondents recalled the bitter historical experience with Turkey and Azerbaijan, noting that it is difficult to imagine peaceful coexistence with a side that has pursued genocidal policies against Armenians for decades. “So many wars and losses happened—what peace did they bring us? We only lost borders, gave five thousand lives, and our boys are still suffering in Baku’s prisons,” one respondent said.

“Peace cannot be achieved through defeat. Real peace must be established from a position of victory and through victory,” said another respondent.
