We want to take this opportunity to congratulate more than half a million of our compatriots who are pensioners, as their struggle lasting more than half a year is beginning to bear its first fruits, Avetik Chalabyan, co-founder of the “Hayakve” civic initiative, said during a rally outside the government building, referring to Nikol Pashinyan’s announcement about raising pensions.

According to him, in the past seven years pensions had not increased as much as they did as a result of this latest decision.

Chalabyan noted that “Hayakve” had launched the initiative for pension increases back in September of last year.

“We spoke about the fact that pensions in our country are unacceptably, unjustifiably low, and that budgetary resources are being spent on numerous political and unjustified purposes instead of being used to improve the welfare of our tens of thousands of citizens,” Chalabyan said.
