People who want to work in Russia should have a long-term plan — Ruben Kirakosyan
Russian lawyer Ruben Kirakosyan told Alpha News about changes in Russian migration legislation that restrict entry into Russia for citizens of other countries.
“People who want to work in Russia must first clarify where they are going, whether there is a clear workplace, and what region they will go to. They must also have a long-term plan, at least for one year, because according to the law, a migrant can only stay here for 90 days.
They can stay in Russia without stating the reason for 90 days, but on the 91st day they must have an employment contract. I recommend coming to Russia with all the documents prepared,” Ruben Kirakosyan said.
According to new amendments, to stay in Russia, a citizen of another country must undergo a mandatory medical examination and submit fingerprints.
“Changing migration legislation in Russia is a very long process that is ongoing, and new changes will be made this year. Now, to cross the Russian border, a citizen of another state must undergo biometric registration so that there are no problems in the future. For example, if a crime is committed, the perpetrator is immediately identified by fingerprints since the state uses new technologies,” the lawyer said.
