Pezeshkian and Erdogan discuss situation in South Caucasus

Iranian and Turkish Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian and Recep Tayyip Erdogan exchanged views on the current situation and peace process in the South Caucasus during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SOC) summit, Tasnim News Agency reports.

The President of Iran stated that Tehran supports the agreements reached between Yerevan and Baku. He also emphasized that Tehran opposes any foreign military presence in the Caucasus, considering it a threat to peace.

During the meeting, Pezeshkian and Erdogan also discussed the situation in Syria and the Israeli regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The two leaders touched upon various areas of cooperation between Turkey and Iran.
