Photographer Anush Babajanyan wins Romano Cagnoni Award 2024

Armenian photographer Anush Babajanyan has won the Romano Cagnoni Award 2024 for her series of photos illustrating the serious crisis in Central Asian countries suffering from water shortages. The official award ceremony will be held in November in the Italian city of Lucca.

Anush Babajanyan is a photographer whose work highlights social issues and personal stories. TIME’s Top 100 photos of 2020 included her image from Shushi showing a missile fired by Azerbaijan during the bombardment of the city.
