In the center of Georgia’s Tbilisi, police dispersed an opposition rally, which refuses to recognize the results of the parliamentary elections, Sputnik Georgia reports.

Tents and benches were set up on Sunday evening. Protesters were provided with food, hot drinks and warm blankets by the organizers of the rally throughout the night. Car traffic was blocked in this area.

Before starting the dispersal, the Georgian Interior Ministry issued a statement calling on the organizers of the rally and demonstrators to obey the lawful demand of the police and vacate the roadway. Currently, the police have fully occupied Melikishvili Avenue in the center of Tbilisi, forcing the protesters off the roadway. According to media reports, several protesters were detained, one person was injured and taken away by ambulance.

Opposition leaders say they intend to fight to the end and are not going to stop the protests.
