Prices are rising, but authorities do not admit that people are struggling – public discontent after Pashinyan’s remarks
Citizens of the Republic of Armenia continue to voice disagreement with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements. This time, outrage was sparked by his claim that poverty supposedly does not exist in the country, but only “in people’s minds.”
“Control over poverty is in the hands of the state leadership. They do whatever they want. And what does the people have? Everything has become more expensive, yet he does not admit that life has become difficult,” one respondent said.
Survey participants also question why the salary of an ordinary police officer is several times higher than that of a teacher or a soldier defending the country.
“Every person should work, but there is no work. There must be jobs so that we have money and the opportunity to trade,” said one resident.
