Russia is the enemy, but there is not a single negative word about Turkey

Following the announcement of the approval of “the peace agreement articles” between Armenia and Azerbaijan, pro-government propaganda has stumbled repeatedly, even by its own standards. One of the most recent examples is the controversy with the “disappearance of Armenia” from maps shown on a French TV channel.

The French TV channel ARTE has aired a map of the region without Armenia during its program “28 minutes”. In particular, the broadcast focused on anti-government protests in Turkey.

The issue was first noticed by Jean-Christophe Buisson, deputy editor of Le Figaro magazine. The Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) noted that 110 years after the Armenian Genocide, ARTE is fulfilling a pan-Turkist dream by erasing Armenia from the world map. “This is unacceptable. It is necessary to apologize and correct the situation!” the CCAF said in a statement.

The incident, naturally, sparked widespread discussion in Armenia, with Pashinyan’s propaganda machine taking a notable stance. It not only sought to reassure citizens that “everything is fine with the maps and that Armenia is represented there within internationally recognized borders” but also “found a Russian trace” in the dissemination of this information.

Studying this situation, it is worth recalling a statement made the previous day by President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, who remarked that “they cannot constantly keep tension in relations with Russia.” Yet, they do so, often employing methods reminiscent of Goebbels. The French channel’s map controversy serves as a clear example of this. This is an example that should make citizens think: Is it the only case when they are being manipulated? Could it be that the citizens were manipulated with the November 9th document’s interpretations? Could it be that they were manipulated with the substance of the October 6, 2022 document? Could it be that they were manipulated with the statements about who stopped the escalation near Armenian Jermuk in 2022?
As for the scandalous report, it is important to note that under public pressure, primarily from the Armenian Diaspora in France, ARTE channel apologized for showing a map of the region without Armenia.

The program’s host, Élisabeth Quin, apologized for the incident, noting that there had been a collective mistake, and the program’s authors regretted what had happened. She thanked the audience for their condescension, noting that there was no malicious intent.

The narrative about the “Russian trace” in the French channel broadcast is a good example for those Russian “experts” who might have been swayed by recent Armenian press reports suggesting that “Nikol is turning to Moscow.” It’s time to recognize Pashinyan’s consistency: He always aligns with Turkey while turning his back on Armenia, Artsakh, the Armenian people, and, even more so, Moscow.

Think about it…
