“Turkey has captured the Zangezur corridor, but Iran and Armenia are the ones to blame”

December 18 2024, 15:15

Even though homegrown “pro-Westerners” convince the Armenian public that Turkey has nothing to do with what happened in Syria, US President-elect Donald Trump openly stated that Turkey orchestrated the overthrow of the Assad regime in Syria.

According to Trump, Turkey has wanted this “for thousands of years”, and what happened is “okay, that’s another way to fight.” At the same time, Trump noted that Bashar al-Assad himself was a “butcher.” In other words, Trump said that Assad was to blame for what happened.

It is clear that the fall of the Assad regime is a blow to official Tehran (which Israel is already using, destroying the Syrian air defense system, which prevented Israeli strikes on Iran). Iran is a fundamental enemy for Trump and Republicans in general. It is no coincidence that Trump’s opponent in the Republican primary, Nikki Haley, said that if Trump wants to weaken Iran, he should call Turkey.

It is obvious that there is a consensus in Washington on Turkey’s role in the destruction of Iran. The Bolton Plan in all its glory…Playing a key role in deterring or potentially “dismembering” Iran, Turkey can also bargain for many benefits from the United States, and it’s not just about F-35 fighters. There is already information about Turkey’s upcoming military operation against the Kurds in Syria. Moreover, Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s appetite is not limited to the Middle East; it is obvious that he needs the South Caucasus. This was manifested in Turkey’s participation in the war in Artsakh in 2020 (it was no coincidence that Erdogan was proud that they were the ones who entered Karabakh). Today, these claims have a specific name: the Zangezur corridor. And as during the fall of Syria, the United States actually stated that “Assad is to blame for what happened,” is there anyone who can guarantee that in case of Turkey’s seizure of the territories of Armenia and Armenia’s complete loss of the border with Iran, Washington will not say that “Turkey has captured the Zangezur corridor, but Iran and Armenia are the ones to blame”?

By the way, have you ever thought that Nikol Pashinyan is in a hurry to withdraw Russian border guards from the border to guarantee Armenia’s loss of the border with Iran? The loss of control over the border with Iran is the final implementation of the “John Bolton Plan”.

We should understand that the US targets under this plan are Russia and Iran. Armenia is only a tool for achieving larger goals. Bolton’s plan implies not only the destruction of the Iranian factor but also a geopolitical plan for the transformation of the Middle East. According to him, “Turkey is the most consistent ally of the United States in the region.” It is logical that as part of this plan, Ankara will have to fill the gap that has arisen in the region after the weakening of Iran.

Think about it…
