Protest held outside Yerevan City Hall

A protest is held outside Yerevan City Hall in connection with the first session of the newly elected City Council.
At today’s session the Mayor of the Armenian capital is to be elected.

Protesters came to the City Hall with banners that read “You have no mandate” addressed to the mayoral candidate Tigran Avinyan.

Karen Vrtanesyan, the coordinator of the protest, told journalists that he was against the Yerevan mayoral elections.

In his opinion, the opposition forces should not have participated in this farce and should not have legitimized these elections.
