Protest outside Ministry of Education

A group of citizens in Yerevan is holding a protest outside the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia.

Earlier, parents of schoolchildren complained that the Armenian alphabet primer had removed information about the creation of the Armenian alphabet and its founder, Mesrop Mashtots. It was replaced with a QR code. The primer no longer includes Mashtots’ portrait or sections related to the alphabet’s origin.

“Our demands are clear. Information about Mesrop Mashtots must be restored to the first page of the primer,” said one of the protesters.
