RA HRD: Azerbaijanis tortured and dismembered Armenians, including children

Armenian Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan tried to contact Azerbaijan’s HRD, but to no avail.

“We tried to make an official contact, but we received no response,” Manasyan told reporters.
She noted that the principles of the presumption of innocence of Armenians imprisoned in Azerbaijan are being violated at all levels.

“From the beginning, they are labeled as criminals both at the state level and by citizens,” the HRD emphasized.

She said that it is impossible to guarantee that investigations in Azerbaijan will be fair.

Manasyan announced that she was the first to raise the alarm that Azerbaijanis tortured Armenians and mutilated their bodies.

“There are many bodies transported from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, including civilians, with signs of torture or dismemberment; there were children and women among them,” said the HRD, noting that she had informed all international counterparts about this.

She also published a report in English, which was submitted to the Hague Court.
