RA HRD: We call on the international organizations and actors to take immediate steps

The appeal of the RA HRD to the international structures regarding the shelling of Artsakh.

“The military aggression unleashed by the Azerbaijani armed forces against Stepanakert and other settlements distorts all the values underlying the modern human rights protection system. Human rights defender Anahit Manasyan calls on international organizations and actors with a mandate to protect human rights to take immediate steps.

The Azerbaijani armed forces are using various large-caliber weapons, including artillery, against the civilian population.

The Defender emphasizes that the aggressive behavior of the armed forces of Azerbaijan grossly violates the principles of international law, poses a real threat to the right to life and security of the civilian population, as well as other fundamental rights.

The Defender reminds once again that no political and territorial circumstances can hinder the protection of human rights. Human rights must be paramount in all situations and in every corner of the world. The Defender calls on the entire human rights community to unite around the realization of this goal and prevent the distortion of the modern human rights system.”
