At the rallies, words of support were expressed for the Armenian Apostolic Church, with participants chanting “Veapar” (“Your Holiness”) and “Freedom for the bishops.” Those gathered emphasized the importance of preserving spiritual and national values, expressing solidarity with the Armenian Church as the guarantor of the Armenian people’s identity.
It is worth noting that the geography of the protests has long extended beyond Moscow. A wave of discontent has swept across various regions of Russia, with rallies taking place in dozens of cities. Among the most prominent were demonstrations in Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, and Sochi. In all these cities, participants came out with unified demands and similar slogans, reflecting the consolidation of the diaspora in its support for the Armenian Church and the Catholicos of All Armenians.
Participants voiced strong opposition to the actions of the Armenian authorities, which they say contradict the Constitution’s guarantees of freedom of religion and the independence of the Church from the state.
