Real Sociedad midfielder Arsen Zakharyan undergoes surgery after right ankle injury

Real Sociedad midfielder Arsen Zakharyan underwent surgery after a tendon injury to his right ankle, the press center of the Spanish club reports. He should be discharged from the hospital on August 7.

“Arsen Zakharyan underwent surgery this morning for an injury to the peroneal tendons of his right ankle. The operation was carried out in Barcelona by Dr. Jordi Vega. If no complications, the player will be discharged from hospital Wednesday, August 7,” Real Sociedad said in a statement.

Arsen Zakharyan, 21, moved to Real Sociedad from Dynamo Moscow in the summer off-season of 2023 for €13 million. The player’s contract with the current club lasts until the end of June 2029. The player took part in 40 matches in all tournaments of the latest season.
