By the blessing of Archbishop Movses Movsesyan, Primate of Russia’s Krasnodar and North Caucasus Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, relics of St. Yeghishe the Apostle were brought to the Armenian Church of Surb Vardan in Kislovodsk, Russia.

St. Yeghishe the Apostle was a disciple of the great Apostle Thaddeus. After the death of Apostle Thaddeus, St. Yeghishe went to Jerusalem to James, the brother of the Lord, and, being ordained by him as a bishop, returned back and preached Christianity in Artsakh and in the country of Aghvank (Caucasian Albania). According to the holy tradition of the Armenian Church, St. Yeghishe is the patron saint of Artsakh.

Each of the believers and parishioners of the church had the opportunity to lay their hands on the relics of St. Apostle Yeghishe, one of the 72 disciples of Christ, who made a significant contribution to the spread of Christianity in Armenia.
