Renovated playground of Mari Postanyan Kindergarten in Hollywood is named Shushi

On August 18, Hollywood hosted the opening ceremony of the renovated playground of the Mari Postanyan Kindergarten, functioning under the patronage of the Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School and the branch of the Armenian Relief Society Mayr. Bishop of the US Western Diocese of the Armenian Church Torkom Donoyan stated that the place will be called “Shushi”.

“Despite the fact that at present the city of Shushi has been torn out of the hands of Armenians by Azerbaijan, in this distant area where Armenians live, we will call the place of children’s play “Shushi” in order to preserve the city in our souls and at the blessed moment strive to return it to its native owner, to Armenians. Today we perpetuate Shushi in the heart of Hollywood under the blessed roof of St. Garabed Church,” His Holiness noted.
