The situation in the South Caucasus region is showing signs of improvement, and to advance the peace process, it is important to resume the work of the consultative regional group of the “3+3” platform, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu said, as reported by TASS.

“In general, the situation in the South Caucasus is tending to improve. At the same time, we assume that the peace process should primarily have a regional dimension. In this context, it is important to resume the work of the consultative regional group of the ‘3+3’ platform,” he said at the 13th meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of CIS member states in Moscow.

Shoigu stressed that “the unblocking of transport and communications in the region, an agreement on which was reached within the framework of the trilateral working group, is of great importance.”
