Return of captives is discussed within political agenda — Yeghishe Kirakosyan

 
The return of captives held in Azerbaijan is mostly discussed within the framework of political agenda, Armenia’s representative on international legal matters Yeghishe Kirakosyan told reporters on Monday.

He noted that the issue of the return of the captives was raised both in the UN International Court of Justice and in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). However, the courts considered that the issue is beyond their jurisdiction. 

“Unfortunately, the return of captives is rather a matter of political agenda. But we submitted legal suits to international judicial bodies—to the International Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights, which considered that this issue is beyond their jurisdiction,” Kirakosyan said.
