Road to Verkhny Lars closed in both directions due to avalanche

The Georgian Military Road is now closed for all types of transport, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia reports.

“Due to the avalanche on the territory of Georgia and the impossibility of ensuring the safe passage of vehicles, as well as taking into account the recommendations of the border police of Georgia, movement for all types of vehicles is prohibited on the section between the city of Vladikavkaz and the village of Lars in the direction of exit from Russia until a special order,” the Ministry said in a statement.
