Russia committed to close cooperation with Iran and Azerbaijan in ‘3+3’ format

Russia is committed to close cooperation with Azerbaijan and Iran as part of the ‘3+3’ regional platform (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia – Russia, Turkey, Iran), Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Thursday.

“We are determined to continue close cooperation with Baku and Tehran within the framework of the ‘Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran’ dialogue format as well as within the ‘3+3’ consultative regional platform,” she said.

According to Zakharova, Russia sees the potential for the development of regional projects between the countries of the South Caucasus and their neighbors.

“The expansion of the North-South international transport corridor, in particular, is also based on this logic,” Zakharova added.
