Russia and Armenia have always maintained friendly ties, and Moscow is committed to developing full-scale relations with Yerevan and is interested in a substantive conversation on this issue, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Thursday.

“I believe we need to talk about specific steps. And that this conversation should be substantive. It should not be about nuances or any sensations. Our position is determined both by the president of the country and by the doctrinal documents. And it is aimed precisely at the full-scale development of relations with Armenia and the people of this country,” she noted.

Russia and Armenia have always had friendly relations, and “historically, it could not be otherwise,” Zakharova said. “We are neighboring countries, we have humanitarian contacts that are not artificial but arise naturally. Our geography, fate, and history dictate that we develop relations,” concluded the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
