Russia has not received any appeals from Armenia regarding withdrawal of border guards from Zvartnots

Russia has not received any appeals from Armenia regarding the withdrawal of Russian border guards from Zvartnots airport, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan said earlier that Russian border guards should leave Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport.

“We consider this another example of an unfriendly attitude from official Yerevan. However, it is not clear to what extent the Speaker of the National Assembly is responsible for the topic he raised. We have not received any appeals from the Armenian authorities in this regard,” Zakharova said.
