Russia is committed to further developing cooperation with Armenia in accordance with the principles enshrined in the 1997 treaty, the Russian Embassy in Armenia said in a statement on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance.

“The document defined the principles and priorities of our interstate relations and became an important milestone in building a bilateral partnership in the spirit of true alliance.

In particular, Russia and Armenia agreed to fully strengthen the traditional relations of friendship and comprehensive cooperation in political, economic, military, scientific, cultural, and other spheres. Our countries also pledged to cooperate in enhancing stability and security both in the Transcaucasian region and around the world.

The Russian side is firmly committed to further developing bilateral cooperation in accordance with the principles enshrined in the 1997 treaty,” the Russian Embassy noted.
