Russia MFA expresses hope for the wisdom of the Armenian people

The Armenian people have quite enough wisdom not to fall for NATO’s attempts to draw the country into the alliance’s sphere of influence, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said to TASS.

“We see NATO’s attempts to draw not only Ukraine, but also other neighbors of Russia, in this case Armenia, into the sphere of its harmful influence. I am convinced that the Armenian society and the Armenian people have quite enough wisdom, foresight, and an objective understanding of modern international realities in order not to fall for such provocative, anti-Russian and anti-Armenian attempts by NATO to draw Armenia into its sphere of influence,” the Deputy minister said.

“We don’t dictate anything to anyone. But, of course, we draw the attention of our partners to the fact that rapprochement with NATO is unlikely to bring positive results for anyone in terms of ensuring their own security,” Galuzin added.

“I am sure that the Armenian people and the Armenian society understand everything perfectly and will draw the right conclusions that meet the long-term security interests of Armenia,” he stressed.
