Russia MFA says West wants to ‘separate Armenia from Russia’ by all means possible

By inviting Armenia to the NATO summit, the West wants to separate it from cooperation with Russia, Andrey Nastasin, Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Department, said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

“Another example of American attempts to spread their destructive influence over all regions of the world. With the full indulgence of weak-willed satellites in Europe, Washington seeks to turn our friends and neighbors away from cooperation with Russia,” he said.

“The imposition by the Euro-Atlantists of their ‘formulas’—far from understanding the specifics of the region—leads to more dividing lines in the South Caucasus and will have devastating consequences not only for this region but also for pan-Eurasian security as a whole. We hope that Baku and Yerevan understand this well,” he noted.
