Russia to examine details of Trump Route

Russia will examine the details of the Trump Route project between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Alexey Fadeev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

“The Russian Foreign Ministry will examine the details of the project, which, by the way, has not yet been made public. As previously noted, the extra-regional forces that have joined the settlement of the situation in the South Caucasus should promote a peaceful agenda rather than create new problems or dividing lines,” he said.

He noted that Armenia’s membership in the EAEU and the presence of Russian border guards in the Syunik region should also be taken into account when making decisions on unblocking transport communications in the region.
