Russia to open consulate-general in Syunik

On October 5, 2023, Mayor of Meghri hosted a meeting with the head of the Russian MFA advanced team on the opening of the Russian Consulate-General in Kapan, the Russian Embassy in Armenia said on Facebook.

During the meeting, they discussed the prospects of a speedy opening of a new Russian consular in Syunik region, which will significantly simplify the access of Russian citizens living in the south of Armenia to consular services.

In addition, it was stated that the new consulate-general will contribute to the further strengthening of Russian-Armenian relations and the stabilization of the situation in the region, as well as to the expansion of cultural, humanitarian, trade, economic and inter-regional cooperation.
