By the end of January 2026, Russia will send an additional 132 wagons of wheat to Armenia via a new railway route through Azerbaijan, and is exploring the possibility of transporting other types of cargo along this route, the Russian Ministry of Transport reports.
Russia has already delivered the first batch of grain to Armenia by rail through Azerbaijan. Fifteen grain wagons passed through Azerbaijani territory and have already crossed the Georgian-Armenian border. The cargo will be delivered to the Dalarik station of the South Caucasus Railway, the ministry reported.
“By the end of January 2026, another 132 wagons of wheat are scheduled to be sent along this route. The possibility of transporting other categories of cargo is also being considered,” the statement said.
