The Russian side is unhappy with Armenia’s participation in the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told RIA Novosti.
“Speaking about security, I would like to emphasize that Armenia remains a member of the CSTO and is a party to numerous bilateral agreements in the military and military-technical spheres,” he noted.
“Instead of a constructive approach to discussing Yerevan’s concerns, they have unfortunately chosen a different path,” the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said.
Armenia, he said, prefers to build up interaction with NATO or individual members of the alliance, especially in terms of implementing NATO standards, purchasing weapons, or conducting joint combat training activities, not to mention participation in the summit of this military-political bloc taking place in Washington these days. “All of this can cause nothing but extreme regret,” he said.
