The Foreign Ministers of Turkiye and Russia, Hakan Fidan and Sergey Lavrov, had a telephone conversation, during which they discussed Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, reported TRT Haber with reference to diplomatic sources.
“Minister Fidan underscored the importance of signing a peace treaty as soon as possible,” the TV channel quotes the words of Turkish FM.
Russia previously proposed organizing the next round of peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin reported that Russia has sent invitations to all leaders of the CIS countries to an informal meeting in St. Petersburg on December 25-26.
At the same time, he refrained from making forecasts for a possible trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the CIS meeting.
