Russian base is important component of Armenia’s interests and security – Russian FM

The Russian base in Armenia’s Gyumri is an important component of ensuring the interests and security of the country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

He noted that security cooperation was a key topic of discussion during their talks, adding that Russia strongly supports Armenia’s active participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
