Russian border guards to stop service on Armenia-Iran border

From January 1, 2025, the Border Guard Troops of the Armenian National Security Service will also participate in the protection of the Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Turkey state borders.

The service at the checkpoint of the Armenia-Iran state border will be fully carried out by the Armenian border guards.

“Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked President Putin for the service of Russian border troops at the checkpoint on the state border between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran since the Republic of Armenia gained independence,” the government’s press office reports.
