Russian MFA spokesperson comments on meeting with US and EU on Artsakh

The United States and the European Union previously proposed Russia to hold a meeting on the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, the sides exchanged points of view, there is nothing to hide about this meeting, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday.

“As for the secret meeting, I do not know, the United States, the EU approached us, proactively, asked us to hold a meeting with a clear goal, and, in fact, during the meeting the parties exchanged points of view on the situation, that’s all,” she said.

“If this meeting is presented in the Western media as a kind of provocative story, then that was the goal of the US and the EU – to create another provocation. There was nothing secret about it, it was an ordinary exchange of points of view. But, I say again, we will monitor how the West will cover all this now. After that, their original goals will become clearer,” Zakharova said.
