Even if Russia and Ukraine sign or preliminarily sign a treaty, or attempt to reach some agreement implying a ceasefire, Russia’s attention will still not be at the level expected by certain circles in Armenia, political scientist Alen Ghevondyan said in an interview with Alpha News.

“Peace and stability can only become a reality if there is a balance of power. At present, Armenia is significantly involved in newly emerging power scenarios, including Turkish activity, and is seeking to advance certain processes with the United States. Discussions about accelerated demarcation and delimitation of the border in the Syunik region are one manifestation of this. In other words, efforts are being made to formulate and implement scenarios that leave no possibility of turning back—crossing a geopolitical point of no return,” Ghevondyan noted.

According to him, the scenarios developed for Nikol Pashinyan are ones he is striving to implement, sometimes even at the expense of his own electoral rating during the pre-election period.
