Samvel Karapetyan sues Pashinian’s press secretary for defamation

Philanthropist and businessman Samvel Karapetyan has filed a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan and Deputy Chief of Staff Taron Chakhoyan.

In the submitted lawsuits, Karapetyan demands public apologies and refutation of the defamatory statements. The lawsuit demands to recover nine million drams (about $24,000) from each MP as compensation for insult and slander, in addition to covering court-related expenses, including state duties and attorney’s fees.

Earlier, similar lawsuits were filed against Arsen Torosyan and Hayk Konjoryan, MPs from the ruling Civil Contract faction.12:33
