Samvel Karapetyan was president of Wrestling Federation, but never used wrestlers’ achievements for personal publicity – Arsen Julfalakyan

Arsen Julfalakyan, Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler, world and European champion, and former Member of Parliament, shared a video in honor of philanthropist and businessman Samvel Karapetyan’s 60th birthday.

“From 2008 to 2016, Samvel Karapetyan was the president of the Armenian Wrestling Federation.

During this time:

• He never interfered in the internal affairs of the national teams, head coaches were free to carry out their professional duties;
• Millions of dollars were allocated;
• All medalists of the Armenian championship were provided with salaries, training camps, competitions, bonuses. The same applied to the coaches;
• Despite the fact that in those years wrestling teams won top titles at world and continental championships, he never tried to use these achievements for personal publicity. Moreover, the overwhelming majority of the public did not even know who led the federation;
• He never involved athletes or coaches in political processes, nor was there any pressure placed on them.
