Sanctions against Azerbaijan will hinder the peace process with Armenia, Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker, Chair of the Committee on Legal Affairs of Germany’s Bundestag, said during a briefing in Yerevan.

According to her, the facts that are provided to introduce sanctions against Baku are quite fair.

However, she believes that sanctions are often limitedly successful.

“I would like to somewhat lower your expectations and hopes on this issue, because, at least at this stage, the introduction of such sanctions can hinder the effectiveness of the peace process,” the German MP added.
