We do not have permanent allies, but we have Armenian interests, head of the Armenian Legal Center for Justice and Human Rights, lawyer, public figure, Sarig Armenian said on the live broadcast of Alpha News.
“Right now, there is a rally in front of the White House in Washington. The Armenians of the eastern region are currently gathering in the name of Artsakh. A rally in defense of Artsakh will also be held in Los Angeles, which will bring together not representatives of some parties, but those who are ready to stand next to the people of Artsakh,” Armenian said.
According to her, what matters is not how many people participate in the rally, but the rally itself.
“A one-time protest will not change the situation, but by moving slowly, we can achieve some result,” the lawyer said.
According to Sarig Armenian, years ago, when the independence of Artsakh was declared, neither Lachin nor Hadrut were liberated, and today we are in the same situation.
“I am on the side of the Artsakh people and the border guard soldiers. We often hear that Artsakh was sold, and the Artsakh issue is already closed. I know one thing: the border guard, whether in Yeraskh or Artsakh, holds his position, and the mother of the border guard is waiting for her child. Sitting in a safe place, I cannot say that the Artsakh issue is closed.
When the declaration of independence of Artsakh was signed, what was the state of Artsakh? Neither the Lachin Corridor nor Hadrut were liberated, but we managed to do it. Today we find ourselves in the same situation. We do not have permanent allies, but we have Armenian interests. Our duty is to stand by the people of Artsakh and raise the issue of its self-determination. If we are ready for all this, we must participate in rallies,” Sarig Armenian concluded.
