On February 7, the Lazarev Center for Armenian Studies of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church will host a screening of “Shushi: Irrefutable Facts,” directed and produced by Gevorg Ter-Ghazaryan.

Presented by the “Art Artsakh” studio at the Tapan Museum in Moscow, the documentary honors the heroes who gave their lives in the struggle for Artsakh’s independence. The tragic events in Nagorno-Karabakh that took place in March 1920, September 2020, and 2023 once again bring to mind the harsh realities of the past.

The town of Shushi—the symbol of Artsakh—found itself at the epicenter of these upheavals, which, both then and now, resulted in the mass exodus of the Armenian population from their millennia-old homeland.

The film seeks to present an objective account of the past, reminding audiences of facts that have long been suppressed, while exposing deliberate distortions and falsifications of Shushi’s history.
