Semyon Bagdasarov: With such a policy, Armenia will cease to exist
Armenian-Russian relations will worsen in the coming year since Russia already understands that Prime Minister Pashinyan, with the help of Western countries, is leading Armenia into the abyss, Semyon Bagdasarov, Director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, told Alpha News.
“Armenia-Russia relations will deteriorate. I think there is already an understanding here—finally, in the 6th year of Pashinyan’s rule—that this man is leading Armenia into the abyss, relying on Western countries. I am not against orientation to the West, but I always ask the question: does Armenia even understand who can come to the rescue if something happens? No one,” he said.
According to Bagdasarov, the priority for Armenia now is not the Crossroads of Peace, but the creation of capable armed forces, the purchase of appropriate weapons and a careful study of what is happening in the Middle East.
“Why is small Hamas resisting the powerful Israeli army so successfully? Why is Hezbollah not afraid of Israel? Are there such military professionals in Armenia? That’s the question. The Armenian Diaspora in the world is very large. Can it be found, attracted, studied, implemented? That’s what we need to do. With such a policy, Armenia will not just cease to exist, there will be neither the Armenian Church nor its center in Etchmiadzin. Do you know the history of the Assyrian people? Armenians could cease to be masters of their land,” the expert concluded.
