Sergey Lavrov: Zangezur corridor was never discussed during trilateral talks

The Zangezur corridor was never discussed within the framework of trilateral talks between the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a press conference on Thursday.

“It was agreed that if all routes are unblocked, Armenia and Azerbaijan will retain jurisdiction and sovereignty over these routes on their territories,” he said.

Lavrov also commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement about Armenia’s readiness to provide land communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan on the same terms as via Iran. According to Lavrov, it is hardly appropriate to compare these routes.
