Armenia is becoming a vilayet, PhD in History, Researcher at the APRI Armenia Sergey Melkonyan said in an interview with Alpha News.
“Armenia is becoming a vilayet. If we look at Armenia’s domestic and foreign agendas, we will see similarities with Turkiye. When we are told that we should not think about Ararat, that we should not continue to fight over the Genocide, that we should change our approach to history, it means that our identity is changing.
This is the domestic agenda. The state propaganda promotes the idea that the real enemy is Russia. In this case Turkiye will be Armenia’s ally,” Melkonyan said.
According to him, there are 3 main powers in the region: Russia, Iran, and Turkiye.
“Armenia does not cooperate with Iran and continues its policy against Russia. When Azerbaijan attacked Armenia, de facto Prime Minister Pashinyan did not call Iran or Russia, but called Erdogan. Armenia is actually becoming an ally of Turkiye and is on the way to becoming a vilayet,” Melkonyan noted.
According to Melkonyan, Azerbaijan, which has established 15 new military facilities on the border with Armenia, is very likely to use them against Armenia itself.
