Simonyan acts against Armenia’s national interests – Vitaly Milonov
Speaking with Alpha News, Russian MP Vitaly Milonov commented on the meeting between President of Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan and President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, which took place in Geneva.
According to the MP, Simonyan puts Armenia in the position of an unequal partner in international relations.
“It seems to me that Mr. Simonyan is acting against the national interests of the Republic of Armenia. I feel very uncomfortable when the parity of relations is not maintained and, for some reason, he puts Armenia one step lower than Turkey. I am for cooperation, but it should be equal and mutually beneficial. And when such antics occur, it is clear that people are acting in accordance with the instructions they received from the West because they need the current administration of Armenia to have good relations with all NATO countries.
But Turkey treats all these so-called efforts with disdain, and I am very embarrassed because the people of Armenia certainly did not ask for such things. These are the goals that Mr. Simonyan discussed with his Western partners, but this is absolutely not in the interests of the Armenian people. Today, he puts Armenia in the position of an unequal partner in international relations,” Milonov said.
